Jessica Mauboy

Well, I've been meaning to start this thread about Jessica Mauboy, but I haven't got around to it till now. And I hope to continue to make it grow over time. I know Eric and Fifi both like Jess, and I hope this thread will make them love her more, and for my other friends here, I hope you discover this little girl with a big voice.

Anyway, Jessica Mauboy is an Australian singer. When she was 16 in 2006, she came in second on Australian Idol. Now she's 21 years old and she hasn't yet really broken out of the Australian market, but there's talk she might try and crack the UK and the US with her current, second album "Get 'Em Girls", which was released on November 5 in Australia. Her first album "Been Waiting" was, as I said, only released in Australia, but it is such a wonderful album, especially for a first attempt by a teenager. She co-wrote 10 of 11 songs (the only one she didn't pen was a fabulous cover of "Time After Time") and she did all the backing vocals herself. I will try and post the songs and some videos from YouTube in the near future. It's definitely worth a listen, in my honest opinion, and Jess really means a lot to me personally, just because I relate to her so much.

Well, I decided to start this thread now because I was just listening to her YouTube Sessions from this month where she sang songs from "Get Em Girls" and I thought about posting it now because they almost sound better during this live session than they do on the album! I guess that's kind of going backwards in her history, but...oh well, lol.

If I didnt know any better, I'd say you were Jessica, but then you're not Australian, that so far is the only distinguishing factor
